A detail of one of our striped cotton blankets without pom poms, Nora,

Our 100% cotton hand-woven blankets are easy to care for just follow our how to care for cotton blankets guidelines below:

Dust Removal

If the surface of you blanket is dusty just give it a good shake outside.

Stain Removal

Stains should be spot cleaned immediately with a mild liquid detergent. Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals. Do not scrub as this will damage the cotton fibers. Ensure all the detergent is removed and dry in the same way that you would dry a sweater: lay the affected area on top of a towl and place another towel on top to absorb excess liquid. Once most of the moisture is removed, hang over a clotheshorse or line to dry. Avoid drying in direct sunlight as the colours on the blanket might fade.

Washing

We recommend taking a leaf out of your grandmother’s housekeeping book and only washing your blankets if they are heavily soiled. Our cotton blankets can be washed at 30c on a cold wash and rinse and the lowest spin cycle. Always wash separately in a large machine and use a mild liquid detergent. If you have purchased on of our cotton pom pom blankets, we recommend washing it inside an old duvet cover to protect the pom poms.

To dry fold flat and sandwich between two towels to remove excess moisture. You will need to change the towels a few times. Once most of the moisture has been removed hang out to dry avoiding direct sunlight. Alternatively, use a dryer on a delicate, low heat setting.

Our cotton blankets can also be dry cleaned.

Ironing

Use a steam iron to remove creases.

Storage

When not in use store in an airtight bag or container.
