A traditional handira wedding blanket which was hand woven in Morocco by the female relatives of the bride for her wedding day. The blanket still has the original blue straps which were used to tie the blanket like a cape around the bride’s shoulders. Scroll over the images to see the blanket in more detail.
This handira wedding blanket is hand woven in a neutral palette of cream and white stripes in a wool and cotton mix. Lines of sparkling sequins adorn the blanket in a geometric pattern interspersed with lines of fringing and clusters of sequins. It will add a touch of glamour, texture and sparkle to a room.
It looks great as a wall hanging or you can use it across the foot of a bed or the back of a sofa.
Please note this is a vintage piece so there may be imperfections but we think this adds to its charm.
