A vintage hand-loomed Moroccan wedding blanket, with a ‘70s vibe, featuring rows of light reflecting sequins and cotton fringing on a creamy white background.  A versatile throw in a neutral palette it will add glamour, texture, and sparkle to a bed, sofa, armchair or headboard.

Traditionally, Moroccan wedding blankets, also known as handira or tamizart, were hand-woven by Amazigh (Berber) women, usually the mother of the bride and her female relatives, as part of her wedding dowry.  The bride would wear her blanket tied around her neck like a cape on her wedding day.  After the wedding the blanket would be used to decorate the marital home.  See our post on Moroccan wedding blankets for the story behind these unique throws.
