Vintage Moroccan Blanket Souad

Our vintage Moroccan blanket, Souad, features bold stripes in a subtle checked design in a beautiful palette of pastel pink, cream, beige, apricot, marine blue, red and green. Souad was hand-woven in a village in the High Atlas mountains in Morocco for domestic use.

Each vintage blanket is unique and reflects the creativity and craftsmanship of the weaver

Due to the scarcity of yarn in these remote villages, women used whatever materials were available to craft blankets and rugs for their homes. The yarn in Souad is a mix of wool, cotton and strips of recycled material, a technique known as boucherouite in Arabic.

Our vintage Moroccan blanket, Souad showcases checks in lighter shades with perfectly imperfect stripes in pastel and darker colours. This artisanal weaving will add colour, pattern, and texture to any room. You can drape it over a bed or sofa or use it to create a unique headboard.

Please note that this is a handcrafted, vintage Moroccan blanket. It contains imperfections in the weave and has partial fringing, which we believe adds to its charm.
