Vintage Blankets

Our collection of vintage Moroccan blankets features one-of-a-kind handwoven textiles sourced from across Morocco. Rich in history, texture and craftsmanship, these blankets were originally woven for domestic use, celebrations and important life events, including traditional Amazigh weddings. Each blanket reflects the traditions, creativity and resourcefulness of the woman who handcrafted it.

Many of our vintage blankets are original Handira, or Moroccan wedding blankets, traditionally woven by Amazigh women in the Atlas Mountains for a bride on her wedding day. Worn as a cape during the ceremony and later used in the marital home, these beautiful textiles feature sequins, kilim bands and hidden Amazigh symbols, messages for the bride and her new husband’s future life together. Others were created as everyday blankets, capes or rugs, each with its own distinctive character and story.

Crafted from wool, cotton, and, in some cases, recycled fibres, our vintage Moroccan blankets range from soft neutral colour palettes to vibrant striped and check designs. Slight imperfections and signs of age are part of their authenticity and charm.

Vintage Moroccan blankets are loved by interior designers and stylists for their versatility, pattern and texture. Draped across a bed, layered over a sofa or hung as textile art, they bring warmth, texture and craftsmanship to contemporary, rustic and bohemian interiors.
