Uplifting colours and bold patterns feature in this distinctive vintage hand embroidered cushion. It’s a large cushion and perfect for lounging on your sofa or outdoors.
The colours and motifs on this cushion have been hand stitched by a woman from one of the pastoral semi nomadic Rabari tribes in the Kutch region of Gujarat. Embroidery is an important part of Rabari culture and forms part of a bride’s dowry. Girls learn to embroider from an early age and stitches and motifs are handed down from mother to daughter over generations.
The colourful palette of pink, blue, orange, and green on a white background gives this unique vintage hand-embroidered cushion a contemporary feel. It will add interest, pattern and a pop of colour and can be mixed with other cushions in the collection like Aravind, Lakshmi or Ehsaan. It comes with a duck feather filled inner pad.
Please note that this cushion is made from vintage embroidery so there may be patches and imperfections, but we think this adds to its charm.
