Uplifting colours and bold tribal patterns feature in this distinctive vintage embroidered cushion. It’s the perfect size for lounging on your sofa or outdoors.
Rabari Embroidery
The colourful motifs featured on this cushion were hand embroidered by a woman from one of the pastoral semi nomadic Rabari tribes in the Kutch region of Gujarat in India. Embroidery is an important part of Rabari culture and forms part of a bride’s dowry. Stitches and motifs are handed down from mother to daughter over generations. This striking embroidery was probably originally part of a bag or saddle bag.
The colourful palette of pink, blue, orange, and green on a white background gives this unique vintage hand-embroidered cushion a contemporary feel. It will add interest, pattern, and a pop of colour to your interior. To create a bohemian look mix with other cushions in the collection like Aravind, Lakshmi or Ehsaan.
Aravind comes with a duck feather filled inner pad and is backed in peach coloured linen with wooden button fastenings.
The cushion is made from vintage embroidery and there may be patches and imperfections, but we think this adds to its charm.
