A stylish Tamegroute bowl with serrated rim in a golden mix of amber, mustard and tan. The richly patterned glaze is characteristic of the Tamegroute pottery in southern Morocco.
Each piece of Tamegroute pottery is unique. The pottery is handmade by a cooperative of seven families using techniques handed down over generations. The distinctive glaze is created with clay from the river Draa, manganese, silicon, cobalt, copper and barley, and a secret ingredient. It’s the combination of the glaze and the firing process which creates the myriad of different colours in each piece, ranging from mustard to earthy brown, rustic green, black and turquoise. No two pieces are alike and Tamegroute ceramics are known for their perfectly imperfect finish so expect changes in glaze, texture and shape.
This decorative Tamegroute bowl with a serrated rim can be used for fruit or salad and will create a stylish centrepiece on a dining table. They make unique gifts too.
