A decorative Tamegroute bowl in a mixture of earthy raw sienna and mustard to bottle green and black. The colours are characteristic of the cooperative of potters in Tamegroute, a village on the edge of the desert in southern Morocco. Perfect as a fruit or serving bowl or as a decorative piece on a side table.
Handcrafted using techniques handed down over generations.
Each piece of Tamegroute pottery is unique. It’s known for its distinctive glaze, created with manganese, silicon, cobalt, copper and barley, and a secret ingredient known only to the seven families in the cooperative. It’s the combination of the glaze and the firing process which creates the myriad of different colours in each piece. No two pieces are alike.
The ceramics are often described as perfectly imperfect so expect changes in the glaze, surface texture and shape. Mix this Tamegroute decorative bowl with other pieces from the collection to create a modern rustic table setting.
