A striking, hand embroidered cushion featuring traditional Rabari embroidery in a palette of pinks, reds and orange. The Rabaris are pastoral nomads living in western India. The Rabaris are known for their distinctive motifs, stitches and use of colour. Embroidery is an important part of Rabari culture and girls are taught to embroider by their mothers and other female relatives from an early age.
Please note that this cushion is made from vintage, tribal Indian embroidery so there may be patches and imperfections but we think this adds to its charm. It contains small pieces of mirrored glass known as shisha.
