A detail of one of our striped cotton blankets without pom poms, Nora,

Our 100% cotton hand-woven blankets are easy to care for. Just follow our “How to Care for Cotton Blankets” guidelines below:

Stain Removal

Spot clean stains immediately using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid using bleach or other harsh chemicals. Don’t scrub, as that may damage the cotton fibres. Make sure to remove all traces of detergent, and dry the blanket as you would a sweater: lay the affected area on a towel, then place another towel on top to absorb excess liquid. After removing most of the moisture, hang the blanket over a clothes horse or line to dry. Avoid drying it in direct sunlight, as the colours might fade.

Washing

Follow your grandmother’s advice—only wash blankets when they are heavily soiled. You can wash our cotton blankets at 30°C using a cold wash, cold rinse, and the lowest spin cycle. Wash them separately in a large machine using a mild liquid detergent. To protect pom poms, we recommend placing blankets with pom poms inside an old duvet cover before washing.

To dry, fold the blanket flat and sandwich it between two towels to remove excess moisture. Change the towels a few times as needed. After removing most of the moisture, hang the blanket out to dry, avoiding direct sunlight. Alternatively, use a dryer on a delicate, low heat setting.

You may also dry clean our cotton blankets.

Ironing

Use a steam iron to remove creases.

Storage

When not in use store in an airtight bag or container.
